Barb was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan (SW Michigan).  She went on to receive her Associate’s Degree from Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan, and further pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan.

Barb was a former Vice President of a large sign manufacturing firm in Michigan, and a partner in development land sales in SW Michigan.   Upon moving to Naples, Florida in 1997, she became an American Airlines Flight Attendant and also worked in Collier County as a free-lance Court Reporter.  In 2002, Barb decided to  follow a real estate career path and began her professional service at Century 21 Sunbelt in Cape Coral, then moved to Century 21 TriPower on Fort Myers Beach, C.G. Claussen Realty on Fort Myers Beach (Developer of the Waterside Development), SunStream Realty on Fort Myers Beach, and now presently Managing Broker at Waterside Realty Group in Bonita Springs.    

Barb received her State of Florida Real Estate license in 2002, her State of Florida Broker’s license in 2008, her Michigan Real Estate License in 2005, and a State of Florida Notary License in 2002.  She also earned her GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute) in 2008, SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) in 2019 and E-Pro Certification in 2019.  She is currently a member in good standing with the National Association of Realtors, the Florida Association of Realtors & Naples Board of Realtors.  She was past President of the Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation, former instructor at the Fort Myers Board of Realtors, and is a Member of the Corvette Preservation Museum.

When Barb is not selling real estate, she enjoys her husband Jack, their teacup Maltese Nicholas, boating in SW Florida, riding in her white Corvette convertible, reading & traveling to anywhere!
